Aygill Barbondale oil painting is one of two new paintings completed this week for a local client. They were both painted on site, near the Two Trees Falls just up the beck from the ‘Washtubs’ at Barkin Beck, where I have painted many times in the past.
They were both finished off in the studio this week, and framed ready to go on Sunday. I have to confess that I had never been up the path to this site until I was asked to do the paintings. But the walk reveals a spectacular view of the surrounding fells leading from Barbon village in the distance at one end, up the valley which extends towards Dent. I’ll definitely be going back up there for some more plein air painting in the future.
